What you need to know about health products and ingredients

Health products, including prescription medications, contain ingredients that can be poisonous.

And the potential for harm to human health from those ingredients has been well documented.

But there is much less discussion of how these ingredients affect the environment.

In fact, there is no federal regulation of the ingredients, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Health Canada has an online guide for people to follow to learn about what is in products.

And in the U.S., a federal law requires manufacturers of prescription medications to notify the FDA if they change their products.

“You have to have the consumer awareness in terms of what the ingredients are,” said Peter Hirsch, a University of Victoria professor who has written extensively about the role of chemicals in the environment, including the effects of pesticide use.

The U.K. has similar legislation, and the Canadian federal government is expected to introduce one this fall.

The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization says that as much as 80 per cent of the chemicals used in the world’s food supply are derived from petroleum, primarily from oil and gas extraction.

Hirsch said that while the risks are significant, the impact of such use is less pronounced than the impact from pollution.

But he said it is important to keep in mind that the impact on the environment is not always so small.

“If you’re using a lot of chemicals, that’s not good for the environment because there’s a lot more that goes into producing those chemicals,” he said.

As with many other industries, chemical production requires a significant amount of water, so the environmental impact of the industry is also significant.

“It’s a matter of managing the environment,” he added.

Although the impact is often less than what is seen in the public eye, Hirsch said it’s important to be aware of the environmental impacts of the products.

For example, he said, the chemicals could increase the likelihood of mould or bacterial growth, which can be very difficult to treat.

He said it can also lead to problems such as algae blooms, which are a major problem in many oceans.
