Health products maker NewCo announced on Tuesday that it has announced plans to sell its new and existing Kilo brand in Canada.
The company will sell its existing Kilos brand in the province of Quebec, as well as in other parts of Canada, including New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
The NewCo brand has been a strong performer for the Canadian health industry, selling more than 30 million Kilos to Canadian health insurers, according to the company.
In a news release, Newco said the sale of its Kilos business is a significant milestone for the company, which was founded in 1997 and currently employs more than 300 people in Ontario.
The Kilos Health Products and NewCo brands are made in a plant in Toronto, which is the first in Canada to be converted to a kilo-size facility.
The brand has a high-performance formula that uses both plant-grown hemp seeds and purified water.
It is a staple ingredient in the popular Green Gourmet brand, which sells to over 500 health-care facilities across Canada.
NewCo also says it plans to bring Kilos products to other markets, including the United Kingdom, where it currently has about 3,000 products in stock.
