Health products that are useful during cold weather are essential during the winter months, according to experts.
“If you’re going to be on the road, and you want to stay in a good shape, the best time to buy health products is during winter months,” said Dr. Jennifer Stansfield, a health product expert at the University of New South Wales.
“They keep your body warm and dry and prevent infection and cold stress.”
Stansfield said it’s a bit like adding an extra layer of padding to a winter coat.
Health products such as ice packs, hand and foot cream, and vitamins can be useful during the cold season, but it’s important to check what products are safe and what aren’t.
The most common products to use during the colder months are: ice packs – ice packs can keep your skin and body warm, while they don’t contain any sugar or artificial colours, according the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Hand cream – hand cream can keep you looking and feeling your best, according Stansfeld.
Mermaid hand gel – the gel has a soothing feel that can help keep you cool during the chilly weather, according National Health, Safety and Consumer Agency.
Vitamin E tablets – these are commonly used to treat eczema, and are great for reducing the amount of sun damage and sunburn.
Water – to keep your water and food in good shape during the chill, a glass of water is a good choice.
Hydrolyzed milk – if you’re having a hard time keeping the cold away from your skin, try using a water bath.
Chocolate – it’s good to get some at the start of the cold, and to keep you feeling energized during the season.
“The key thing to remember is to always look after your health and well-being and never forget about yourself,” said Stanswell.
To stay safe, it’s best to always have plenty of snacks, water and ice packs around you at all times, Stansfields advice.
